Asterphos Photography

Asterphos is not real. It is a brand I made up for an assignment during college. The assignment was to draw two random objects out of a hat and combine them into a new logo and mark. The objects I drew were a camera and a starfish. Hence: Asterphos was born.

Initial concepts

I did different drafts to try and find the best way to combine a camera and a starfish. At first I wanted to make a starfish out of cameras, but then I realized that I could use the star as the aperture of the camera.

Type and color

I played around with different typefaces and colors before eventually landing on a mix of Luminari and STIX Two Text. I decided the orange and teal would be the best colors.

Final Logo

This is the final logo and mark that I made from the prompt. There's both a color and monochrome version.
